Before the school existed, there was the custom. Agustín started surfing as a teenager, in the ocean that opens between Argentina and southern Brazil. BX Board Experiences is the natural continuation of this story: classes for those arriving at Rosa for the first time, and progressions for those who already get on the board but want to read the sea better.
Before the first wave, there is the ocean.
BX Board Experiences was born from this routine. A school, with private classes and groups, designed for those who want to understand the sea before trying to surf — read the wind, understand the currents, gain confidence and enter the water calmly. Alongside two partners and friends, what started as a simple project, driven by a passion for the sea and the desire to teach in a close and true way, grew naturally over the years.
More than learning technique, it's about creating a relationship with the ocean.
How a class works

Today, BX continues to be a school with an intimate atmosphere and an attentive look — made up of meetings, learning and many shared first waves.

BX works with boards suitable for each level: wide softboards for beginners, mid-lengths and shortboards for those who are already advanced. The conditions at Praia do Ouvidor are ideal for learning — sandy bottom, constant waves, space to make mistakes without consequences. For the more advanced, they lead to several beaches in the surrounding area, where the tide and wind align.
When you come, what to expect
The main season runs from November to April, when the swell is most consistent. But there are waves all year round — between December and February the waves are shorter and the hot days make up for it. During the whale season (July to November), southern right whales sometimes appear in the distance, during class. It's a difficult detail to explain to someone who has never seen it.
Guests at Casa da Árvore have special conditions — Agustín adjusts schedules for those staying with us and opens windows outside the public calendar. It is recommended to notify us upon arrival (or via WhatsApp when booking) to guarantee the best time depending on the tide.

Most guests who take one class take a second one the following day. Some people come back to Rosa years later, and still surf with us. It's the best indicator we have.
